SPECIAL NOTES & IMPORTANT DATES
THE KNIGHTS’ MEMBERSHIP DRIVE takes place this Sunday.
THE KNIGHTS’ BBQ will be on June 14th after the 8am, 9:30am & 11am Masses.
ADORATION CHAPEL is open at 10am to noon – Monday through Friday.
MONTHLY COMMUNION is taken to the sick on the 1st Thursday. Should you need this service, please contact the Parish Office.
2025 TAX RECEIPTS can be picked up during the week from the Parish Office, or you can phone/email and we can mail or email to you.
2026 SUNDAY ENVELOPES – if you haven’t already, please pick up your envelopes from the Parish Office during the week.
ON THE 4TH SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH, the 11am Mass will be for all students & parents of our School. All parents & students are requested to attend.
GLUTEN-FREE COMMUNION AVAILABLE - If you require a gluten-free Communion, please receive communion directly from the priest rather than from a Eucharistic minister. Kindly indicate your need when you come forward. Your health and spiritual well-being are important to us. We are committed to making Sacraments accessible and welcoming for all.
THE FILIPINO MASS is on the first Sunday of the month - June 7 - at 6pm
Christian Meditation Group meets in person on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7pm.

I am also sincerely grateful to our dedicated altar servers for their prayers, participation, and support. Your presence and affection are a great blessing to me.

REFLECTIONS
CORPUS CHRISTI
Today is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. This day was once called Corpus Christi, which is Latin for “Body of Christ.” In the revised Lectionary the name for this day is expanded to reflect more completely our Eucharistic theology.
Today’s Gospel is taken from the Gospel according to John. The reading is part of a discourse between Jesus and a crowd of Jews. The discourse comes shortly after the miracle of Jesus’ multiplication of the loaves and fishes. In John’s Gospel, miracles such as this are identified as “signs” through which people come to believe that Jesus is the Son of God. These signs are followed by dialogue, or discourse that interprets and explains the miracle. In John’s Gospel, Jesus’ multiplication of the loaves is said to have occurred near Passover, thus linking it to the Exodus story and God’s saving action toward the Israelites.
Having seen Jesus multiply the loaves and fishes, the crowd pursues him, perhaps seeking more food but also looking for another sign. Jesus tells the crowd that he is the bread of life. He explains that just as God gave the Israelites manna to sustain them in the desert, so now God has sent new manna that will give eternal life. It is in this context that Jesus repeats those words in today’s Gospel and tells them again that he is the living bread that came down from heaven.
Jesus’ words are not well understood by the crowd; they argue that Jesus is not from heaven but born of Mary and Joseph. The crowd also has trouble understanding how Jesus could give them his flesh to eat. Jesus tells them that when they eat his flesh and drink his blood, they will remain forever connected to him. These are difficult words, but they are important because they seek to show us our intimate connection with Jesus.
This is the mystery that is at the heart of our Eucharistic theology. In the elements of bread and wine, Jesus’ Body and Blood are truly present. When we share in the Body and Blood of Christ, Jesus himself comes to dwell within us. This communion with the Lord makes us one body, brings us eternal life, and sends us forth to be Christ’s Body in the world.

St. Edmund’s Christian Meditation Group
The St Edmund's Parish unit of the 'World Community for Christian Meditation' (WCCM) will resume its in-person meditation meeting, on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 7pm in St Edmund's Church. "No Experience Necessary"- The group leader will give new people the basics of meditation and some resources.
WCCM continues to hold a weekly virtual meeting on Mondays (via ZOOM), also at 7.00pm. You are sincerely invited to attend the WCCM meeting(s). All are welcome.

St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Secondary School is looking for an experienced, full-time Office Assistant.
Duties include:
Answer incoming calls and review voicemail daily, directing as required.
Overseeing students’ attendance and advising the Administration of any potential issues.
Distribute daily mail accordingly.
Other duties as assigned.
Assisting the office team when necessary.
Potential candidates should have at least one year of related experience and be available to work 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, starting August 24, 2026. Previous experience with Microsoft Office systems, Google and MyEd BC is beneficial.
